The swift advancement of Generative AI technology is significantly impacting various industries and job roles. In response, the Ministry of Education has launched the “Taiwan Artificial Intelligence College Alliance" (TAICA), which will encompass 25 colleges and universities, including National Taiwan University, beginning in the first semester of the 2024 academic year. This alliance aims to enhance AI education through collaborative intercollegiate programs that integrate teaching resources, offer AI-related courses, provide expert mentorship, and streamline teaching assistant resources and course guidance services. By pooling AI educational resources from institutions across the nation, TAICA will create opportunities for students to engage in intercollegiate learning. Universities with strong AI faculty will lend support to those with fewer resources, ensuring equitable access to AI courses for all students. The alliance will offer four credit programs: “Applied Artificial Intelligence Exploration Program," “Artificial Intelligence in Industrial Applications Program," “Artificial Intelligence for Natural Language Technology Program," and “Artificial Intelligence for Computer Vision and Imaging Technology Program," designed to meet the diverse learning needs of students from various disciplines. This initiative aims to foster intercollegiate learning experiences and enhance the development of AI talent, aligning with the growing demand for professionals skilled in AI within the job market.
